Intergenerational Volunteerism

Mai 22, 2024

The data shows that volunteer engagement is still low. Among these low rates exasperated by the COVID-19 pandemic, older adults and youth are two categories who are yet to re-engage as they once did. Is there a lack of older adult and youth volunteers, or do we need to rethink our strategy to make pathways for these valuable volunteers to participate in their community?

Volunteer Canada cordially invites you to join our free webinar ‘Intergenerational Volunteerism, Engaging the Present - Inspiring the Future’ on May 22, 2024, from 2 – 3 pm ET. We will engage in a panel discussion exploring how intergenerational volunteerism can be a catalyst for older adult and youth volunteer engagement. Our expert panelists are Sharon MacKenzie the Executive Director of i2i Intergenerational Society; Tracie Swim, the Co-founder of WIN Intergenerational Network; and Leigha McCarroll from Volunteer Canada. The panel discussion is moderated by Anita Newling, Volunteer Canada’s Intergenerational Initiative Manager.
