Job Description / Duties

The role of the Volunteer Coordinator is to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and assess needs that can be fulfilled through the support of volunteer placements. The Volunteer Coordinator will work together with Volunteer Services to increase the collective capacity of volunteers within the service area, thus allowing for the strengthened delivery of programs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
Support all aspects of Agency Volunteer Management system including recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, engagement and recognition utilizing best practice
Volunteer Workforce Planning including role development and volunteer onboarding
Identify opportunities to improve volunteer recognition and retention
Collect and report stakeholder feedback
Maintain policies and systems to ensure effective volunteer management and supervision of volunteers
Increase visibility in the community by attending various events with or on behalf of your programs (attending volunteer fairs, presentations with VS)
Assist with maintaining volunteer records, including records retention
Any other duties as requir

Qualifications / Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma/Degree in Volunteer Management, human services or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience in recruiting, screening and managing volunteers
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management
Valid driver’s license and vehicle that enables you to attend meetings and events is required
High level of professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
