Job Description / Duties

The Successful Candidate for this Position Must be able to:
 Plan, organize and execute targeted volunteer recruitment strategies
 Ensure that volunteers are screened and appropriately placed to mitigate risk and ensure program success
 Develop and deliver a volunteer training program
 Manage relationships with program leaders
 Plan and execute volunteer recognition activities
 Represent the organization at networking meetings such as TAVA
 Develop documentation and record keeping practices
 Develop practices, policies and procedures to align Volunteer Services practices with Human Resources
standards
 Evaluate the outcomes of the volunteer services program through statistics, surveys and other feedback
 Have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends and to travel to locations throughout our service area
 Adhere to the Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Personnel Manual

Qualifications / Required Skills

The Successful Candidate for this Position Must Have the Following Qualifications:
 A 2-3 year college diploma; university degree is preferred
 Certificate in volunteer management or equivalent work experience
 A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience or 4 years in a supporting role within a volunteer services
environment
 Experience supervising, coaching and directing the work of others
 Strong relationship management skills
 Proficient in the use of MS Office; CIMS experience is an asset
 Strong written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to train staff and volunteers
 Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy environment
 High degree of professionalism and dedication to self, coworkers and clients
 Excellent customer service skills
 Ability to work independently or in a group setting
