Job Description / Duties

JOB SUMMARY:

Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position collaborates with the general public, hospital staff, community groups and others to develop, plan and coordinate volunteer programs and activities. Establishes and maintains working relationships, conducts needs assessments, coordinates and evaluates volunteer programs Recruits and trains volunteers and coordinates their deployment. Acts as a resource for staff who interact with volunteers and ensures compliance with organizational policies relevant to volunteers.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences.
Three years' recent related experience.
Experience with a personnel management or volunteer management database.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating groups of 100 or larger.
CVA (Certified Volunteer Administrator) Designation is a definite asset.

To succeed in this role, your toolkit will include most, if not all of the following:

Recruitment and Screening;
Interviewing;
Assigning and Coordinating work;
Supervision of large groups;
Recognizing team members;
Documentation (MS Office, Volunteer Management Databases).
