Job Description / Duties

The Coordinator of Volunteer Services is responsible for the recruitment, training, program development, human resource management, and support of the GMFRC’s team of over 100 volunteers. The Coordinator will be directly responsible for the GMFRC Volunteer Tutoring Program and the Family Sponsor Program, and will participate actively as a member of the GMFRC Social Media team. The Coordinator will ensure our youth and adult volunteers embrace personal and professional growth opportunities with meaningful contributions through the work we do in our military community.
Probationary Period: 6 months
Responsible to: Executive Director

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:
 Undergraduate degree in the Social Sciences/Community Development field
 Five years experience in program development, management, and evaluation
 Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skill with the ability to facilitate presentations and workshops; and must be computer literate in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Access.
 Awareness of risk management issues as they pertain to volunteers and clients as well as a strong belief in the principles of volunteerism is required.
 Experience working in a not-for-profit organization with an in-depth knowledge of volunteer management and community development.
 An understanding of the unique needs of military families is necessary and a working knowledge of community resources in the catchment

Additional Information

Hours
 37.5 hours per week (some evening & weekend hours are required. Flexibility is a must.)
The successful candidate will be prepared to commence employment in April 2017.
Must complete a Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check, and Enhanced Reliability Check.
