Job Description / Duties

As the Team & Culture, Coordinator Volunteers, you will provide a positive, memorable, and safe experience for WinSport’s volunteers with a focus on the youth volunteer programs. You will work with the youth volunteers to support them in their growth and development as WinSport team members, through coaching and performance management. In addition, you will also support the behind the scenes administration of the volunteer program by ensuring the integrity of the volunteer database, coordinating schedules and liaising with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
•Work with the youth volunteer programs, ensuring the volunteers are engaged and supported
•Provide feedback, performance management and guidance to volunteers
•Work with a variety of stakeholders to create schedules, implement training and orientation, and provide meaningful recognition of volunteers
•Manage the volunteer database, ensuring volunteer information is entered accurately
•Support recruitment initiatives, including attending volunteer fairs and speaking engagements, coordinating mail outs and emails, and liaising with community schools and groups
•Provide support to WinSport’s Leadership Program, volunteer orientations and trainings
•Oversee the volunteer benefits program, including tracking, and distributing season passes and reciprocal benefits
•Provide a high level of customer service to volunteers
•Work on special projects as needed

Qualifications / Required Skills

•Strong organizational and administrative skills
•Experience working with MS Office
•Database management experience is an asset
•Ability to communicate effectively with public speaking and written communications
•Confident decision maker and creative problem solver, with the ability to take initiative, coordinate with others and follow through in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the volunteer schedules (some weekend and evening work required)
•Experience working with youth, including coaching and/or mentoring
•Experience in a sport environment
•Post-secondary diploma or certificate (completed or in progress) in volunteer management, not-for profit studies, human resources, sport & recreation, or a related field of study
