Develop special events promotional materials
Assist with member agency communication and liaison
Manage Volunteer Burnaby’ social media platforms: Facebook – Twitter – Instagram
Assist with fund development activities and grant applications
Oversee summer employment staff and other temporary staff
Works under the Executive Director within a self-directed work team model
Other areas as assigned by the Executive Director
• Completion of post-secondary education preferred
• Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job
• Experience in volunteer management and/or community development an asset
• Multi lingual an asset
• Considerable knowledge of community event planning and volunteer management an asset
• Skill in public speaking and customer service
• Ability to relate and work with a broad and varied population
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
• Lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
• The position is based on 32 flexible hours a week, some evenings and weekends will be required
• This job description will be used in conjunction with employee contracts, which articulate anticipated outcomes, goals and objectives
• The successful candidate will be required to complete our Volunteer Management Program
