Category: OtherReporting to the Manager of Volunteer Services the Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, screening, training and supervising volunteers who provide supplementary and complementary care services to enhance the quality of life for patients, residents, clients and staff of Nova Scotia Health.
The Coordinator will have a focus on youth engagement and will coordinate youth volunteers and high school coop placements in Central Zone, support in Western Zone, Northern Zone and Eastern Zone, and Work with People Services Recruitment to support youth engagement to optimize opportunities to recruit youth as future employees.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination education and experience
• Experience with youth engagement and youth initiatives
• Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience is required
• Demonstrate a high degree of focus, professionalism and confidentiality
• Ability to conduct interviews with potential volunteers
• Ability to provide advice, consultation, support, assistance and guidance on a regular basis
• Supervisory skills and leadership qualities
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: $27.02 - $30.62/hourly
