Job Description / Duties

Role modelling WinSport’s Four Key Behaviours – Safe, Welcoming, Inspiring and Innovative, the Coordinator will provide a positive, memorable, and safe experience for WinSport’s volunteers. Working with various internal and external stakeholders, the Coordinator is responsible for the Volunteer Engagement Cycle at WinSport, including but not limited to: recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluation and recognition.

Coordinate all aspects of the Volunteer Engagement Cycle to ensure an inspiring and engaging volunteer program
Manage the volunteer database, demonstrating a commitment to the integrity of volunteer information
Create and monitor schedules, working with stakeholders to guarantee operational needs are met
Identify and action opportunities to support volunteer growth and engagement, including tracking volunteer benefits, events, contests, coaching/mentorship and training
Utilizing creativity, build and execute effective recruitment strategies to meet the continuous growth of opportunities and activities for WinSport Volunteers
Facilitate trainings, orientations, and activities, including presentations to volunteers, parents, and the public
Coordinate and facilitate the Youth Leadership Program, including Leadership Training and the Youth Leadership Committee
Provide feedback, performance management and guidance to volunteers
Actively participate in the guest experience at WinSport, role modelling initiative and innovation
Work on special projects as required
Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers and WinSport guests.
Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individuals.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and administrative skills
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to relate and engage with a wide range of demographics
Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and projects, while ensuring deadlines are met
Ability to communicate effectively with public speaking and written communications
Confident decision maker and creative problem solver, with the ability to take initiative, coordinate with others and follow through in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with MS Office
Previous experience working with a volunteer database
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Volunteer Program (some weekend and evening work required)
A minimum of three years’ experience working within a volunteer program
CVA designation, or working towards the CVA designation is preferred
Experience working with youth, including coaching and/or mentoring is an asset
