This is a Permanent, Part-time position.
Category: OtherVolunteer Burnaby (VB) is looking for an Events Coordinator to maintain and improve our footprint in the community. The events coordinator plans, develops, manages, and promotes activities within Burnaby and New Westminster.
The ideal candidate will professionally represent the agency in the community. Experience in volunteer management and/or community events an asset or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Must have good writing skills. Preference given to those with a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle. Multilingual is not required but an asset. There is some flexibility with the job, but some evening and weekend hours are required. Works under the leadership of the Executive Director.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Event volunteers’ recruitment, orientation, training, evaluation, and recognition.
• Manage events and related programming as identified by Volunteer Burnaby (including Special Events volunteers, Christmas Gift Wrap Program and Burnaby community events and festivals).
• Respond to calls to promote volunteerism as part of VB public relations activities.
• Work in coordination with summer employment program participants.
• Other areas as assigned by the Executive Director
Salary: $22.00/hr
