What the role is all about:
As a Facilitator at WinSport, you will be providing superior guest service and program implementation within WinSport’s volunteer programs. Working with various stakeholders, you will be responsible for supporting volunteers in WinSport's Welcome Team, events and facilitating WinSport's Youth Leadership program, while ensuring guest have an amazing experience. In this role you will be actively providing exceptional guest service alongside the volunteer team.
Responsibilities:
•Support the Welcome Team volunteers, through coaching and performance management, while working alongside them to provide high level guest service
•Support and facilitate event volunteers at various WinSport events, including coordinating day of schedules
•Coordinate with the Team & Culture, Advisor volunteers prior to the event(s) to ensure a smooth execution
•Implement the Youth Leadership Training sessions, in coordination with co-facilitators, ensuring a safe and supported environment while meeting the curriculum guidelines
•Liaise with staff to ensure volunteers are supported and engaged in meaningful ways
•Establish positive relationships with volunteers and act as a role model, demonstrating maturity and compassion at all times
•Strong organizational skills
•Passion for delivering exceptional guest service and a willingness to lend a hand when needed
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including public speaking
•Confident decision maker and creative problem solver, with the ability to take initiative, coordinate with others and follow through in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the volunteer programs and events (weekend and evening work required)
•Experience working with youth, including coaching and/or mentoring
•Post-secondary diploma or certificate (completed or in progress) in volunteer management, not-for profit studies, human resources, sport & recreation, or a related field of study
•Event management experience is an asset
