Job Description / Duties

Duties/Fonctions:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Community Programs & After Stroke, the Coordinator, Volunteer Engagement is responsible for managing, developing, implementing and evaluating volunteer-led programming offered across Canada, that exist within the CPAS portfolio. In this role, the Coordinator will oversee a comprehensive volunteer and resource program within a specific region, while supervising and actively championing volunteer-driven activities across the CPAS portfolio.

The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Coordinator, After Stroke and the Coordinator, Community Programs within their respective region to ensure suitable volunteers are integrated into program delivery. The Coordinator will also work closely with other Coordinators, Volunteer Engagement and the Senior Manager, Volunteer Engagement to ensure consistent practices are applied across the CPAS portfolio. In this role, the Coordinator will oversee a comprehensive volunteer and resource program within a specific region, while supervising and actively championing volunteer-driven activities across the CPAS portfolio.

The Coordinator, Volunteer Engagement will work with the Regional Manager to ensure that CPAS departmental volunteer policies, procedures and practices are up to date and meet organizational requirements. The coordinator will provide oversight for the identification of new volunteer opportunities within regional CPAS programs, development of appropriate volunteer assignments, recruitment, screening and selection of volunteers, including placements for students and interns. The incumbent will ensure that CPAS staff assigned to work with volunteers and the volunteers are appropriately trained.

The Coordinator, Volunteer Engagement is responsible for creating and executing annual program plans, establishing objectives and key performance indicators that are aligned with the broader CPAS goals. The role will also be responsible for contributing to the promotion of a culture of volunteer appreciation and recognition within the organization with the goal of guaranteeing a positive and meaningful experience for all CPAS volunteers.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications/Compétences requises:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in health promotion, education, social services, volunteer development, community development or related area.
3-5 years working experience in a volunteer coordination capacity
Experience working with the disability community, knowledge of disability issues and/or lived experience of disability will be considered strong assets
Experience of providing person centred support to vulnerable people
Experience of working with health and social care professionals in a variety of settings
Experience with group facilitation
Proven expertise in volunteer resources development and volunteer management
Experience and comfort using Microsoft Office products and volunteer management programs
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated program planning, implementation and evaluation skills
Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
Proven ability to supervise, motivate, train and monitor the performance of a team of volunteers
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
Works effectively with, and demonstrates respect for others
Self-motivated to achieve results
Demonstrated flexibility to changing demands of the job and multiple tasks and deadlines; results-oriented
Demonstrates willingness and ability to apply new methods and techniques
Driver’s license essential
French an asset
