You are passionate about community engagement and what it takes to deliver an exceptional customer service experience for volunteers, staff, and the public. You thrive on organizing systems and processes. You will assist with various aspects of administrative and backend support crucial to the volunteer program's success, including setting up and maintaining manual and computerized information filing systems and responding to routine verbal and written inquiries from the public. You will review, and update volunteer position descriptions, procedures, and handbooks as required. You will stimulate interest and participation by promoting volunteer roles on targeted databases and utilizing recruitment strategies. You will support planning volunteer training and recognition events as required. You are able to work independently with minimal supervision. You are a team player committed to community, courteous and effective with the public, and enjoy working with a diverse group of people.
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary courses on track to obtaining a Recreation Management certificate, diploma or degree, plus related experience.
Preferred experience working with volunteers or having performed volunteering work.
Experience with databases, specifically Better Impact or Volgistics is an asset.
A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.
All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.

Salary: The pay for this unionized position starts at $28.56 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits
