Dear volunteer-involving organization:
In 2009, National Volunteer Week is April 19-25, and while this may seem far away, at Volunteer Canada our planning is in full swing – and we want you to play a role. With the generous support of Investors Group, Volunteer Canada is once again pleased to lead the National Volunteer Week campaign with our partners in promoting and recognizing volunteerism throughout the country.
To do so, Volunteer
Photos. Send digital copies of photos of your volunteers to outreach@volunteer.ca, or send us the URL of your uploaded photos. Be creative! Take shots of your volunteers in action – alone, together, all of your volunteers in one group. If you already have a collection of photos, you can use those as well. Don’t forget to include your logo with your submission.
Videos. Upload digital copies of your videos via http://drop.io/ to volunteer.ca. For step-by-step instructions, e-mail outreach@volunteer.ca. You can also upload your video and send us the URL. Be creative! Perhaps your organization’s executive director can say a few words to tell Canadians how volunteers contribute to your organization! Again, please submit a copy of your logo.
A key thing to remember is that the videos do not need to be professionally done. If you have a digital camcorder, great! But you can also use the video feature on your digital camera to take footage. Our team of video editors will work with the footage, add your logo and website, and then upload it onto the NVW website.
This is your chance to thank your volunteers by showcasing them as part of a national campaign.
